FAQ

How do I work out how long a simulation will take to run on Trampo?

The actual speedup depends on your simulation, and the only way to know for sure is to do a test.

What happens if the simulation converges faster than I expected?

All good! The remaining hours are credited to your Trampo account balance and are valid for one year.

What happens if the simulation converges slower than I expected?

If you’re close to convergence, you can finish running the simulation on your computer.

If you’re far from convergence, you can resubmit your simulation to Trampo.

What will the results files synchronised on my computer contain?

Your results files will contain all your simulation outputs, your simulation log and saved simulation file(s). Your results files will be updated on your computer as they get generated.

Can I stop the simulation at any time after submitting it?

A simulation that has been submitted can be cancelled on our website.

How does Trampo deal with large simulations clogging the system?

We buy more supercomputing time, supercomputing priority and licences.

How much information do you extract from my simulation?

Please review our Terms and Conditions/Chapter 4: Technical nitty-gritty.

Do you use virtualisation?

In contrast with most of our competitors, we do not run simulations in a virtual machine. Virtualisation creates a computing overhead and reduces performance.
